the multiple stick

If there’s one beauty product that everyone should own, it would have to be some kind of multiple stick. Aka the don of makeup. Yep, concealer’s great, mascara is wonderful stuff too, but when you have little time, or just simply can’t be bothered to do much with your makeup, a multi purpose makeup product is the ultimate go to. When I look at the one product I purchase over and over again myself (along with endless shades of brown eyeshadows) it would probably be multi-sticks. I just love the idea of something a little bit tonal in my makeup, with a speedy application that results in a super quick eye, cheek and lip look done. Boom….leaving you with more time to enjoy the important things in life (like watching Queer Eye).

In todays post I had a quick look through my own makeup drawers to share with you my favourite summer go to’s, and these often end up being my first port of call when it comes to holiday makeup and minimal packing. I like a cream finish, something I can blend into moisturiser that can be reapplied easily as and when I want to also. The great news is so many brands make these cream based multi purpose sticks and they’re easily available at every price point.

Milk Makeup Lips & Cheeks

I love the chunky shape of these Milk Makeup Sticks, you can quite literally pucker up and tap the cream directly onto lips and cheeks for a generous helping of translucent colour. My favourite shades are Rally (pink shade shown above) and Perk, a nice coral. I also think a wash of pink across the eyelids looks super modern and a nice way to mix up your eye makeup on holiday, plus your left with a glossy sheen that gives off all the editorial vibes.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick

Chanel’s cream blush sticks has a slightly more powdery cream texture so this is my go to recommendation if your skin is more on the oily side. This colour (shade 21) is really brightening and very complimentary to every skin tone. A soft peachy coral hue that has summer written all over it. Another one that looks equally beautiful to create soft sunset eyes, or a brighter coral lip look.

Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick

Having a matte bronzer cream is a holiday essential for me, because I can do so much with it. This one from benefit is the cream to powder version of the infamous Hoola Powder Bronzer. The Stick makes it nice and convenient to pack and allows for several uses in one. I love this on my eyelids, and because its a cream to powder formula I find it stays put pretty well, no need for a brush, just apply with your finger and blend. This also makes a great contour or bronze, giving soft definition where you want it, and I love to apply this over the bridge of my nose to cheat my holiday glow from day one.

You probably already have one somewhere in your makeup stash, but if you don’t it’s the one addition I highly recommend for your summer holiday makeup bag, and a product you’ll no doubt end up using year round, thanks to its speed and variety of looks you’ll be able to create all with one makeup item. Even if the only other thing you pack is a concealer and a mascara, you’re pretty much set! I’ve also added some of my other faves in the shop the post section below.
